Papa Joe’s

A series about the personal lives of foreign & Turkish workers in a bar in Istanbul. Somewhat reminiscent of Saroyan’s The Time of Your Life combined with the TV series Cheers. The bar is in danger of closing until the relunctant owner is persuaded to turn the unused second floor into a dance space complete with a Turkish rock band enamored with music from the 60s.
 
There is music, there is dancing, there are numerous romances among staff and customers  with the owner trying hard not to lose sight of why he opened the bar/restaurant in the first place: so he would always have his own table while being stuck in the 60s himself.
